The London publisher Samuel Bagster (1772-1851) had the habit of gathering with his family every morning and every evening for devotions. Biblical texts were read and discussed. Bagster attached great importance to the thematic connection of different passages of the Bible. From these family devotions, with much prayer, the popular devotional book - "Daily Light on the Daily Path" - was born.
With this new edition, the devotional book is now available for the first time in the Schlachter 2000 Bible translation.
It consists of two devotions per day, using only thematically arranged Bible verses: left page a passage for the morning, right page for the evening. Each biblical text used is accompanied by the verse reference. The devotional book in its handy format with ribbon is a beneficial gift for young and old.
At the request of many brothers and sisters in faith, this edition has been painstakingly prepared as a new edition using mainly the Slaughter Bible 2000. The original English edition with the Bible texts according to the King James Version (KJV-Authorised Version) served as a model. Therefore, the appropriate English wording of the KJV was also translated into German in some places.
