Millions of people are currently streaming into Europe. Fleeing poverty, terror and violence, they are driven by the hope of a better life. Many Germans are helpless in the face of this. Overwhelming fear and bewilderment at the conditions in the countries of origin paralyse us. But how do people feel who leave their families and homes behind? Who have had to give up everything because their homes have been destroyed? Because their families have been shot down, raped and murdered? Who have had everything they own taken away from them? And who have to move to a foreign country with only the clothes on their backs? Tobias Kley, initiator of GetAwayDays, has collected their stories. Stories of men and women from different countries who describe their flight. They tell of their fears of cruel destruction, of families torn apart by gangs of traffickers. Deeply moving and yet full of hope.
